The Butcher Of Cornelscourt Remains Open For 96 Hours!

A well known butcher shop in Dublin has taken the radical and frankly ambitious step of staying open for 96 hours straight in the lead up to Christmas!!!!!

James Whelan Butchers opened in Dunnes Stores Cornelscourt at 7am this morning (Thursday, December 21st), and won’t shut until 6pm Christmas Eve.

With festive ‘fowl’ ups a growing issue each Christmas in Ireland, this option can balm the shattered nerves of any home maker or sustenance seekers providing the perfect safety net for any last minute turkey and ham shoppers.

The heroic Pat Whelan of James Whelan Butchers said: “It’s quite amazing to look back on the last few years and see how much our small business has grown and is still growing.”

“To be able to operate on a 24 hour basis in the lead up to Christmas is fantastic and hopefully we can help any last minute Christmas food shoppers out of any sticky situations!”

James Whelan Butchers opened its first shop in 1960 and now has six craft butcher shops throughout Dublin in Dunnes Stores and Avoca locations.

The company currently employs over 110 people, with their newest shop launched in Swords during October bringing a further 27 jobs to the north Dublin location.
