Callum Turner has refused to comment on rumours that he will be the next James Bond amidst speculation.

The Eternity actor was asked to comment on the recent speculation whilst he was at the Berlin International Film Festival.

“There are for some weeks now some speculations, rumours, reports that you are the next James Bond, could you share a little bit how you deal with this debate right now, this buzz? Can you live and work normally?” a journalist asked at the festival.

Turner stated that it was "very early for that question" and "I’m not going to comment on it. Thanks.”

Turner's co-star in 'Rosebush Pruning', Tracy Letts homorously confessed "I’m sorry, I'm the next James Bond." Turner responded to his co-star sarcastically, “Tracy, I thought you weren’t going to tell anyone!”

Fans of the Bond franchise are eager to know who will be taking on the role after Daniel Craig stepped down in 2021. Names that were previously thrown in the mix to take on the role are Idris Elba, Henry Cavill, Robert Pattinson, and Tom Holland, along with the newly speculated, Turner.

August 2025 saw Holland shut down rumours of the torch being passed on to him. The Spiderman actor became a favourite to take on the role after Amazon MGM studios announced that they were looking for a young actor to play Bond. When Holland was asked if he would be taking on the role by Gordan Ramsey on his YouTube channel, he said: “Listen, there’s speculation at the minute. We’ll keep it to a minimum for now. We’ll get there one day. I mean every young British actor, it's the pinnacle of working in the industry. I already consider myself to be the luckiest kid alive. I could not have dreamed to have the career that I have."

In other news, Charli XCX has addressed the possibilty of recording the next 007 theme, the pop singer admittedly stated that she doesn't think she is "built for that." She confessed on the Julia Cunningham show: “Never say never. I’m open to it if they want to call me, which they won’t but, yeah. I think it might not be a fit, but that’s, well, yeah. It’s not going to happen now, is it? So amazing. I don’t know.”

Noel Gallagher has openly expressed his interest in recording the next Bond theme. When the Oasis singer was asked if he would be interested he said: “Of course. It would be an absolute honour, and I think those kind of things should be done by Brits not Yanks.” Reports have suggested that Oasis are on top of Amazon MGM's wishlist for the next Bond theme.

Denis Villeneuve will direct the new James Bond film alongside Tanya Lapointe with Amy Pascal and David Heyman serving as producers. Villenuve released a statement about the new film and his plans, he said: "Some of my earliest movie-going memories are connected to 007. I grew up watching James Bond films with my father, ever since Dr. No with Sean Connery. I’m a die-hard Bond fan. To me, he’s sacred territory. I intend to honor the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come. This is a massive responsibility, but also, incredibly exciting for me and a huge honour. Amy, David, and I are absolutely thrilled to bring him back to the screen. Thank you to Amazon MGM Studios for their trust."

Multiple publications have suggested that the upcoming James Bond film will be released in 2027, however no official date has been released.
