Bruce Springsteen has revealed another release from his forthcoming album Western Stars. You can check out the album’s second single, “There Goes My Miracle,” below.
This track is in a similar vein to “Hello Sunshine,” and as UCR observes evokes the AM pop from LA of the early ’70s. However, “There Goes My Miracle” comes with a sweet orchestral arrangement that serves as a backdrop to this lush number.
The arrangement is replete with melodies not dissimilar to the Beach Boys’ classic Pet Sounds. Western Stars drops on June 14th and The Boss has hailed it:
“A return to [his] solo recordings featuring character-driven songs and sweeping, cinematic orchestral arrangements. It’s a jewel box of a record.”
The album was co-produced by Ron Aniello, with whom Springsteen has now made three records. They are 2012’s Wrecking Ball and 2014’s High Hopes, as well as the 2014 EP American Beauty.
So far Springsteen hasn’t announced any plans to tour behind Western Stars, which was laid down at roughly the same time as Wrecking Ball but kept under on the shelf for years.
