Clint Eastwood is to direct a new film, Juror #2.

The movie which hits the US cinema screens on November 1, will be directed by Eastwood, aged 94.

It will also star British actor Nicolas Hoult, who will play Justin Kemp, a family man who is serving as a juror in a high profile murder case.

“There’s only one Clint Eastwood”

According to reports, Eastwood’s latest movie is to be “a part of this year’s awards race, and that chatter will only increase now that it is opening during the heart of awards season and playing at AFI, just like his Oscar contenders American Sniper and Richard Jewell”.

Paying tribute to Eastwood, AFI president and CEO Bob Gazzale said this: “There is only one Clint Eastwood – and AFI is proud to present the world premiere of this next chapter in his historic canon”.

“We are honoured to bring the community together once again – artists and audiences – to celebrate an American icon”.

Juror#2 also features JK Simmons, Toni Collette, Zoey Deutch, Gabriel Basso, Chris Messina, Cedric Yarbrough. Kiefer Sutherland. and Leslie Bibb.

It will also get its world premiere on the final night of the AFI Fest at the TCL Chinese Theatre on October 27.

News of this movie broke last year, with Eastwood saying that he has been negotiating with Hoult and Collette at that stage. More on this from Nova here.
