Dermot Kennedy has said that he "can't comprehend" playing in Dublin's Aviva Stadium.

The 'Power Over Me' singer is set to play two gigs at the Aviva this July. Speaking on the upcoming concerts, Kennedy said that he is excited to meet fans and hopes to "appreciate" the moment without being "intimidated by it".

Kennedy's Aviva shows will mark his biggest ever concert, with 50,000 people expected to attend his shows on July 11th and 12th this year.

In a recent social media post Kennedy said that it is only "hitting him" now that his Aviva shows are in a couple of weeks. "I’m trying to ready myself for how that might feel and just be conscious of how much it took to get to this point, and appreciate it, but not be too intimidated by it," he said.

"I just wanted to check in and say thank you for the fact that these two gigs exist. I’m looking forward to seeing you - 50,000 people two times is something I feel very, very grateful for. I can’t even comprehend what that’s going to feel like. I’ll see you soon, thank you very much," he continued.

Ahead of his Dublin shows, Kennedy has released a new single taken from his upcoming album 'The Weight Of The Woods'. The new single is titled 'Honest' and is available to stream now.

Speaking of his news album, he said: "To me, the album is a beautiful homegrown thing with Irish instruments and an Irish story. There’s a forest behind my house, which is a haven for my sense of wonder. It’s a peaceful place where I can escape. I’ve entertained the idea of living somewhere else, but I don’t think I’d be happy anywhere else.”
