Detectives have been examining the house where an elderly woman was killed in an assault in North Dublin.
The woman in her 80s died after being attacked in Clontarf last night. The elderly victim of this assault has been described as a lovely lady.
She was attacked at her home here in Kincora Court in Clontarf last night– which is located at a cul de sac in the quiet housing estate.
Gardai arrived at the scene at around at 8 and found her body. A man in his 60s and known to her was arrested at the scene and brought to Clontarf Garda Station – where he is still being questioned this afternoon.
Locals in the housing estate are shocked at the death of the elderly woman. Gardai are following a definite line of inquiry into the death of the elderly woman and aren’t looking for anyone else as part of the investigation.
