Dublin Bus is set for its most radical change ever. It’s being proposed that the numbers on the buses should change to letters and a new two-fare system should be introduced.

These major changes would take commuters a while to get used to. Under the proposals – there would be 27 per cent more services, which would include 11 new orbital routes. A new two fare system would be introduced – working off whether you travelled 90 minutes or less.

One of the biggest changes would see the numbers on buses changed to letters. CEO of the National Transport Authority Anne Graham maintains that once people adjust to the changes the new lettering system will be much easier to understand.

Jarrett Walker, head of the company proposing the changes says they are badly needed. You can see the proposals on busconnects.ie and the public will be asked to respond later this month.
