Duran Duran had considered the idea of releasing a biopic about their history.

However, it appears that that idea is being placed on the shelf for the moment, if what bassist Jon Taylor said in a recent interview is anything to go by.

"I think the problem is, with Bohemian Rhapsody or Rocketman, they were focused on one guy, one creative genius, and everything kind of worked around that," he said. "With us, if you go all the way back to the band that exploded in the 80s, you’ve got five guys. So it becomes almost more like an Ocean’s 11, and it’s about the interplay between five. I think that’s a little bit more complex".

Taylor even went on to say that it is a movie that he might not be too keen to see himself.

‘I’m interested in stories where the hero has to go through all sorts of challenges to survive," he explained. "I suppose what Duran Duran is about, in a way, is friendship. We are kind of like a friendship group that makes music", he said.

Jon Taylor also went on to add that they have "seen a few scripts", but their are no plans moving forward.

Having wrapped up a number of shows across Halloween in the UK, Duran Duran said they will finish 2025 with concerts in the UK, which will continued into 2026, including a show in Las Vegas on New Years' Day.

Taylor also added that it is somewhat of a superstition of the band's to perform on stage every six weeks to "feed their muse" creatively.

There are other reasons too.

"You take a year off and the phone will stop ringing after a few months," he noted.  "And by the end of the year, they just won’t think of you. You’ll have been replaced".

Back in July, the band were also brought out by Duran Duran by Sabrina Carpenter for a live rendition of 'Hungry Like The Wolf' at London's BST Hyde Park over the weekend. Find out more on this here.
