Emily Eavis has reacted to calls for Oasis to headline Glastonbury 2027.
The band are to return to the road next year with their major, Live '27 tour, including shows in Glasgow and Machester, as well as Slane Castle. It will also see them play 11 nights at the Ethiad Stadium, home of Noel and Liam Gallagher's beloved Manchester City, which is to finish on June 26.
Interestingly, Oasis are not booked to perform any shows on June 27, leaving fans to speculate that they were set to headline the Worthy Farm event that day.
However, some fans were quick to play down these rumours due to logistical issues. Oasis are not playing three shows in a row at any stage during their tour. They also did not play three consecutive shows during their last tour.
It was also mentioned that transporting their crew and equipment from Manchester to Somerset in under 24 hours would also prove to be challenging.
Now, Glastonbury boss, Emily Eavis has responded to a comment about whether the Britpop icons would perform at the venue next year, with one fan writing: "Please say you've got Oasis".
Eavis replied: “Sorry Jimmy, not this time!”.
At the time of writing, no acts were confirmed for next year's Glastonbury festival.
Back in August, Liam Gallagher had also ruled out a Glastonbury slot for Oasis next year, insisting that this was "not happening".
Responding to a fan's comment on X, Gallagher said: “It’s not HAPPENING so all you croc wearing flag waving [expletive] can calm the [expletive] down".
This also comes amid new doubts over Oasis' second show in Paris as part of their 'Live 27' tour due to planned transport works.
According to Le Parsien, the band's second show at the Stade de France could be under threat, due to planned works on the public transport network between Île-de-France and Hauts-de-France in Paris on July 24 next year. More on this here.
