Eric Clapton isn’t winding down. If anything, 2026 is shaping up to be another meticulously curated lap around the globe for one of rock’s most enduring figures.

Fresh off confirming a stretch of European dates, including a headline outdoor show at the Royal Sandringham Estate in the UK, Clapton has now added a six-date Midwest US run for September.

The American leg begins on September 6 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. From there, Clapton moves through Cincinnati, Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul, before closing the run at Kansas City’s T-Mobile Center on September 17. It’s a compact schedule. No filler. Just major rooms in key cities.

Jimmie Vaughan will serve as special guest at every stop, adding further depth to a bill that already carries serious pedigree. Clapton’s touring band remains a formidable unit: guitarist Doyle Bramhall II, drummer Sonny Emory, keyboardists Chris Stainton and Tim Carmon, bassist Nathan East, and backing vocalists Katie Kissoon and Sharon White. It’s a line-up designed for nuance rather than bombast. Tight, seasoned, and reliable.

Ticket rollout follows the now-standard layered approach. An artist pre-sale begins March 3 at 10am local time, with Live Nation’s pre-sale following on March 5. General sale opens March 6 at 10am local via Ticketmaster.

These new US dates slot neatly into a calendar that was already busy. Earlier in the year, Clapton will take in a string of European arenas including Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome, Madrid’s Movistar Arena, and Munich’s Olympiastadion. The August 23 show at Sandringham Royal Estate stands out as a particularly high-profile moment.

Giles Cooper of HeritageLive Festivals framed that UK appearance in suitably reverent terms: “Eric Clapton is one of the greatest musicians of all time. It’s a dream come true for all of us at HeritageLive Festivals to have him play at The Sandringham Estate for us next August. It’s going to be such a special and unique event, one of those gigs where you say in years to come, ‘I was there!’. We just can’t wait!”

Clapton’s touring model has shifted in recent years toward fewer dates and carefully selected venues. There’s no relentless cross-country grind here. Instead, these runs feel deliberate, focused bursts that allow the music to remain sharp.

And make no mistake, the audience remains. Decades into his career, Clapton’s catalogue, from blues foundations to arena standards, still commands rooms of this size without difficulty.

Six US dates. A packed European spring. A royal estate in August.

For an artist who has already secured his place in history, 2026 looks less like a victory lap and more like business as usual.
