The document , Harris says, will outline the fiscal, societal, and political terms needed for a united Ireland.
Harris stated that “Our responsibility is to ensure that any discussion about the future is informed, inclusive and grounded in reality.
“Fine Gael believes that reconciliation, not triumphalism, that persuasion must come before politics, and that respect must be at the heart of every conversation.”

“This work is the necessary groundwork we need to do to develop unity of purpose, unity of vision and unity of our island. That work begins now.”
Harris said that listening to the Irish people is an essential step in building the future for Ireland.
The work will be lead by Fine Gael's Northern Irish Engagement Group who will work alongside Professor Deirdre Heenan.
Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou said she was in support of this preperation, which she described as overdue, but has speculated on wether Harris can "put his money where his mouth is," in regards to this particular topic.
