Fontaines D.C look set to reach top spot in the UK's Official Album Chart with their latest release, Dopamine Chamber.
The album is the fifth studio release from the band, following on from Dogrel, A Hero’s Death, Skinty Fia and Romance.
This week could also see three of the album's tracks hit the UK Top 40 this week, including 'Marianne', which is on for a new peak at No. 8, 'Six Shot Morning' (No. 9), and 'Mimesis' (No. 11).
Other artists in the top 10 include Ash at No 5, as they celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut album in 1977 with a new vinyl release, while Rachel Chinnouriri's album, I think I spoke too Soon, is at number four.
Michael Jackson's compilation, The Essential lands third spot, while Olivia Rodrigo's You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In is in second place at the time of writing.
Next June, Fontaines D.C's will headline Slane Castle, Co Meath, becoming the third Irish act to headline the venue after Thin Lizzy and U2. The band even added a second date at the venue due to popular demand. They will also be joined by special guests, Damien Dempsey and Hayley Williams.
They will also perform a run of shows in Japan, Australia and New Zealand in January 2027, before hitting North America next April.
However, it appears unlikely that Fontaines D.C will be supporting Oasis on their new tour next year. This comes as frontman Liam Gallagher said that the band "are not good enough" to receive such a privilege. More on this from Nova here.
