Four men are due before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin this morning after being charged in connection with an investigation into drug-related intimidation, false imprisonment and the assault of a man earlier this month.
The developments follow searches at 11 addresses across West and South Dublin, carried out by gardaí from the Serious Crime Unit, DMR South.
Six men, aged between their 20s and 50s, were arrested during the operation and are being held at garda stations in Dublin.
Two of those arrested have since been released without charge, with a file being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The remaining four men have been charged and are due to appear in court this morning.
A number of items of evidential value, including electronic devices, were recovered during the searches. The devices will now undergo further technical examination as part of the investigation.
Gardaí from DMR South were supported during the operation by members of the Serious Crime Unit, DMR West, the Dublin Crime Response Team, the Emergency Response Unit and the Armed Support Unit attached to Special Tactics and Operations Command.
Frontline uniformed gardaí and other support units also assisted with the searches.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the alleged offences remain ongoing.
