Friends Star's Remember Late Director James Burrow's As A "Father Figure"

James Burrows who's career spanned more than 50 years,  was best known for his work on "Friends", "The Big Bang Theory", and "Cheers" died aged 85.

The Friends stars have described him as a father figure to them.

In an Instagram post David Schwimmer who played Ross on the Show said that Burrows "brought out the best on every actor he ever worked with," he said that Burrows was "Paternal in the best sense of the word, loving, wise, encouraging, challenging, instructive, patient, inspiring, playful - and on my best days, I’d like to think, even proud."

Lisa Kudrow, who played Pheobe, shared a similar sentiment with her costar, saying that Burrows was a "legendary director, mentor and creative force, he helped shape generations of comedy and brought immeasurable joy to audiences around the world."

James "Jimmy" Burrows was an 11 time Emmy Award winner and has in of the television hall of fame since 2006.

Burrow's helped to build the sitcom industry as it stands to day, and while he will be sadly missed by both those inside and outside the industry, it is safe to say his legacy will always be celebrated.
