According to NBC4, the Kiss legend crashed his car on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu on Tuesday afternoon. He reportedly told deputies that he passed out or fainted while he was behind the wheel. Eye witnesses stated that they saw his car weave in and out of lanes before crashing into a parked car.
Simmons was quickly transported to the hospital, although he was released shortly after. Simmons wife told the media that he was severely dehydrated due to changes in his medication.
"Thanks, everybody, for the kind wishes," Simmons posted to social media, "I'm completely fine. I had a slight fender bender. It happens. Especially to those of us were horrible drivers. And that's me. All is well."
This comes just a month before Kiss are to perform in Las Vegas for their 50th anniversary. The event will take place from the 14th to the 16th November. The performance will see some of the original members "unmasked", they will be performing without their iconic face makeup that they are known for.
They will also be joined by special guests and the event will feature "exclusive Q&A sessions with members of the band, a panel with longtime manager Doc McGhee, a special live performance from former KISS member Bruce Kulick, along with sets from KISS tribute bands, other special guests, interactive activities, exclusive experiences and more," according to a press release for the event.
