Gene Simmons will play his first show since KISS retired from touring.

In April, Simmons will perform at the Brazilian rock festival Summer Breeze, marking his first solo performance since KISS’ retirement from the stage last month.

Other acts performing at the festival also include Sebastian Bach, and Mr Big.

Zach Thorne Corey Taylor’s guitarist, and Brent Woods who is Sebastian Bach’s axeman, will also perform as part of this Gene Simmons band, alongside session drummer Brian Tichy.

The performance will also mark Simmons’ first solo tour since 2018.

“A few changes were needed to compose the final line-up of the second edition of the festival. Introducing all of our new rides, additions and changes today”, a post on the festival’s Instagram page read.

“We’re happy to welcome Flotsam and Jetsam for the first time in Brazil, icon Gene Simmons and his solo band as Friday’s headliner, and closing the festival … on Sunday, metal legend Mercyful Fate”.

“50 years is a long time”

Following their final show from their Farewell Tour in Madison Square Garden on December 2, Simmons’ former band KISS brought the curtain down on their remarkable touring career.

Following this, KISS did confirm that they would perform as virtual avatars, becoming the first band to do so.

“50 years is a long time, and what the future holds is in the making,” the caption reads, while the video includes the wording: “2027 a show is coming”.
