Thousands of free traditional crêpes will be handed out across Ireland this Pancake Tuesday as Gino’s Gelato marks its biggest giveaway yet.

The popular artisan gelato chain has announced it will offer complimentary traditional crêpes from 9am to 12pm on Tuesday, 17th February, across 29 stores nationwide. The giveaway, available on a first-come, first-served basis, is expected to draw large crowds, with customers encouraged to arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Each free crêpe will be served with the classic topping of lemon, butter and sugar, a nod to the much-loved Pancake Tuesday tradition. The annual event has grown significantly in recent years, with queues forming around city blocks as thousands turn out for the limited-time offer.
This year’s celebration also marks the official launch of Gino’s Gelato’s 2026 crêpe menu, introducing several indulgent new options. Among the highlights are Biscoff and Snickers Specials, alongside a range of creative flavour combinations designed to appeal to crêpe lovers across the country.
Customers who wish to upgrade their free crêpe can add Nutella for €2, with 100% of proceeds donated to the Children's Health Foundation. The charity supports children’s hospitals in Temple Street, Crumlin, Connolly and Tallaght, helping to fund vital equipment, research and patient care services.
The Pancake Tuesday initiative has become a cornerstone event for the company, combining celebration with community support. Founder Jonathan Kirwan said the day remains one of the most anticipated dates on the company’s calendar.
“Pancake Tuesday has become one of the highlights of our year. The energy and excitement from our customers is incredible, and we love being able to give back to the community while supporting such an important cause,” he said. “We’re expecting another record turnout this year, so my advice is simple: get there early.”
With locations spanning Dublin, Cork, Galway, Waterford, Wicklow, Mayo, Limerick, Wexford and Kildare, Gino’s Gelato has positioned itself as one of Ireland’s fastest-growing gelato brands.
The free crêpe promotion runs from 9am to 12pm on Tuesday, 17th February, at all Gino’s Gelato stores except Liffey Valley, which will not participate in this year’s giveaway.
