Glastonbury Performance Puts Elton John Top Of BBC Viewing Figures

Elton John's recent exploits at Glastonbury have broken viewing records across the BBC, attracting over 7 million viewers.

The singer concluded the festival with a performance on the Pyramid Stage, which saw him attract 7.3 million viewers, three times the viewing figures which watched Paul McCartney's set at the festival last year.

The festival's other headliners including Guns N'Roses and Arctic Monkeys attracted 1 million and 1.5 million viewers.

According to reports, these figures make Elton John's Glastonbury set the most watched set on television in the festival's history.

Elton John Delivers "Special and emotional" Show 

Bringing the curtain down on this year's festival, Elton John delivered a "special and emotional" performance at the Worthy Farm venue.

The show saw Elton John perform hit after hit, including 'I'm Still Standing', 'Your Song', 'Tiny Dancer', 'Don't Go Breaking My Heart', 'Rocketman', 'Your Song',

and 'I Guess Why That's They Call It The Blues'. 

The music icon also performed alongside several artists including, the Killers frontman Brandon Flowers, Jacob Lusk, and Rina Sawayama.

“It’s a very special and emotional night for me because it might be my last show ever in England, so I had better play well and I had better entertain you, you’ve been standing there so long and I really appreciate all the outfits and everything”, Elton John told the audience.

The show also saw Elton John pay tribute to the late George Michael, on the day which would have marked the singer's 60th birthday.

Elton also delivered a moving rendition of 'Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me'.
