The band have confirmed that a brand new documentary about their huge show at Tottenham Stadium last Saturday (June 20th) is on the way.
At the band's first ever Stadium show, fans noticed that there were a number of cameras set up and multiple overhead drones.
Illustrator, visual artist and founding member Jamie Hewlett confirmed to BBC news that a documentary about the London show is in the works.
Hewlett revealed that extensive filming took place in the venue on the night of the gig.
“The aim is to reveal what it takes to put on a show like this. We have artists filming themselves getting on planes from different parts of the world, then everybody coming together here in Tottenham, the arrival of the fans, the Gorillaz show, and the aftermath, when there’s only empty beer cups left," he said.
The cameras on the night captured backstage, the crew and crowd. The documentary will feature a blend of this footage this footage with the band's cartoon characters.
According to the BBC, 30 musicians from the 15 different countries came together for the Stadium show, including Johnny Marr, Shaun Ryder, Little Simz, and Moonchild Sanelly. Hewlett explained that he wanted to create the documentary to express the grand scale of the show.
In other news, Gorrillaz are set to head to India for their first ever tour there. They have announced that they will visit India in 2027 for their most recent album 'The Mountain.'
The band are expected to perform at District Arena at Terraform in Bengaluru on January 23rd 2027, before heading to Mumbai, where they will host a show at Jio World Garden in the Bandra Kurla Complex on January 27th.
Gorrillaz are expected to bring out special guests for their gigs in India, including many Indian collaborators that feature on their brand new album.
