Guns N'Roses are coming to Dublin's 3Arena tonight, and ahead of this show, bassist Duff McKagan had a chat with our very own Marty Miller.
Naturally, the topic of Ireland came up, a country which is very close to the heart of McKagan, having told Marty that his grandfather actually hailed from County Cork, before coming over to America.
"Ireland is always special, its where my grandfather came to America from, he came from Cork. I have family here", McKagan said.
Elsewhere, McKagan said that every gig the band plays brings with it a whole new experience and audience, noting that different songs bring different meanings to fans.
"I realise every place we play, it is a new set of people, some have never watched us live before, or there is a person there that Welcome To The Jungle means a lot to, or November Rain was a song that people got married to, so I have a lot of appreciation for people who come to see us", McKagan stated.
"It is inspiring that people take the time to come and see us", he added. "It’s an honour to play for people, so there are not just masses. I don’t look and think its just another crowd, I always know where I am and who I, playing for".
