Tom Petty’s band The Heartbreakers have reunited for the first time since the singer’s passing. That was for the Light Up The Blues benefit concert for Autism Speaks at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, April 21st. There’s videos of the special night available below…

Rock royalty and Hollywood celebrities joined forces with autism advocates and musicians on the spectrum to raise awareness and much needed funds for Autism Speaks. The Heartbreakers, comprising of Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench, and Steve Ferron were joined onstage by a plethora of musicians including Patti Smith, Stephen Stills and Beck. As well as these stars, Neil Young, Shawn Colvin, Steve Earle, The White Buffalo and Chris Stills also played.

The concert was organised by Stephen Stills, who joined the band to play Petty’s ‘I Won’t Back Down’, before they later joined forces with songwriting legend Patti Smith for a version of her classic song ‘Because The Night’.

Beck then played with the group performing Petty’s ‘Guess I’m Doing Fine’ and ‘Where It’s At’.
