HELL & BACK is set to return to Killruddery Estate in Bray this September, bringing a packed programme of obstacle-course challenges for adults, teenagers, children and families.

The action gets underway on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September, when thousands of participants will take on the iconic 7KM course, tackling rugged terrain, water crossings and some of HELL & BACK’s most notorious obstacles.

Among the challenges awaiting participants are the infamous Ice Baths, The Swamp, Sniper Valley, Heartbreak Ridge, Valley of Pain and the Eliminator Ramp. The course will also feature the immersive Army Zone, staffed by members of the Irish Army, adding another demanding test to the experience.

The September weekend will cater for participants of all ages and abilities. Saturday’s programme includes the HELL & BACK Junior 7KM for ages 10+, the Teen 7KM for ages 12-16, the Family 7KM for ages 10+ and the Adult 7KM for those aged 16 and over. On Sunday, children aged eight and over can take part in the Junior 4.5KM course.

As well as the physical challenge, HELL & BACK offers plenty of opportunities for human-interest stories, with participants regularly taking on the course to raise money for charity, celebrate personal milestones, overcome adversity or simply test themselves alongside friends and family.

The event will also see the return of HELL & BACK’s junior races at Killruddery, part of a series of one-day sporting events designed specifically for children. The courses combine fun and challenging obstacles while encouraging physical activity, teamwork and confidence.

September will also see HELL & BACK enter a new chapter with the launch of HELL & BACK ENDURE on Saturday 19th September.

The inaugural 12-hour challenge will put athletes, trail runners and endurance enthusiasts through a relentless 5KM obstacle course in a last-person-standing format. Participants will face a new lap every hour, with the conch shell signalling the start of each round.

Those who complete a lap early will then face a choice: remain at the start line or return to their personal aid station to recover, refuel and prepare for the next round.

With competitors battling fatigue and pushing their physical and mental limits, HELL & BACK ENDURE promises dramatic action as participants attempt to outlast everyone else.

With a full schedule of challenges throughout September, Killruddery Estate is set to become a hub of obstacle-course action as HELL & BACK tests the strength, determination and teamwork of participants of all ages.
