Irish Rail and DART passengers travelling across Dublin and surrounding counties including Kildare, Meath and Wicklow are being warned to expect significant disruption to rail services over the Easter bank holiday weekend, with major engineering works set to impact DART and commuter routes.
Iarnród Éireann has confirmed that a revised timetable will be in operation from Good Friday through to Easter Monday, with some of the most notable disruption affecting the DART line and services running along the east coast.
From Saturday through to Easter Monday, DART services between Connolly and Dun Laoghaire will be suspended entirely.
During this period, DART trains will only operate between Howth or Malahide and Connolly, and separately between Dun Laoghaire and Greystones.
All stations between Connolly and Dun Laoghaire will be closed for the duration of the works.
Passengers travelling through these areas will need to use alternative public transport, with Leap cards accepted across other Transport for Ireland services, subject to capacity.

The disruption will also have a knock-on effect for commuters travelling to and from Wicklow and further south.
Services on the Dublin Connolly to Rosslare Europort line will operate only between Bray and Rosslare, with bus transfers in place between Bray and Connolly.
These replacement buses will not serve Tara Street or Pearse stations, which may add additional journey time for those commuting into the city centre.
The works, which include overhead line renewal, retaining wall upgrades and platform improvements, are part of a broader programme aimed at improving reliability and capacity on the network.
Elsewhere, services from Dublin Heuston will also be impacted, particularly for passengers travelling west.
Trains from Dublin to Galway will be replaced entirely by bus services from Friday through to Monday, while services to Westport will involve bus transfers between Heuston and Athlone.
Passengers are being advised to check journey times in advance, as schedules will vary across the weekend.
Good Friday will operate on a revised timetable, with DART and commuter services running on a Saturday schedule, while Easter Monday services will follow a Sunday timetable.
With multiple routes affected and replacement buses in operation, longer journey times are expected, particularly at peak travel periods across the long weekend.
