Irish duo Jedward were spotted at this year’s Reading and Leeds Festival, campaigning for climate change, and catching up with Soft Play in the process.

The pair who comprise of blonde-quiff twins John and Edward Grimes, burst onto the scene after appearing on UK talent show X Factor back in 2009.

The pair also went on to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 and 2012.

“don’t know everything about everything” – Jedward Raise Awareness

Jedward used their recent appearance at the Leeds and Reading Festival to raise awareness of issues such as climate change, which saw them take part in some environmental discussions at the festival.

“I just think climate is important”, Edward said. “Sometimes people feel like they don’t know everything about everything but it’s about just educating yourself and moving forward”.

These sentiments were also shared by identical twin John, who also added, “All you’ve got to do is be a tryer”.

Having met dozens of supporters at the site, Jedward also performed at the Climate Live: Bus Stage, where they delivered a live cover of the Killers’ hit ‘Mr Brightside’, just hours before Brandon Flowers and co were due to hit the stage.

It was at this point, that Soft Play who were formerly known as Slaves, shared footage of them meeting the Dublin twins, with guitarist Laurie Vincent fist pumping the pair, before taking to the stage for the festival’s final day.

“Aaaand thank you Leeds,” the post read. “Jepic energy. Love you loads”.
