Katie Taylor's promoters are set to begin talks over a potential fight at Croke Park with stadium officials on Friday.
The talks will see Matchroom Boxing, whose chairman is Eddie Hearn meet with Croke Park officials, focusing on Taylor being in a main event fight.
Taylor has already agreed to fight in Dublin this Summer in a career farewell. Croke Park has already been linked with hosting a huge fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua recently, with Taylor also being linked with featuring on the card.
The Dublin venue is also hosting a friendly match between Manchester United and Leeds United on 12 August, with concerts fixed to take place during the final two weekends of the month.
Given that Croke Park are to be in use for the All Ireland finals until August 9, any potential fight would likely take place around mid-to-late August when concerts and other sports take over at the venue while the pitch is no longer being used for football and hurling.
Speaking back in February, Katie Taylor said that it would be a dream come true to end her career with a fight at Croke Park.
"Croke Park would the top of the list", she said at the time. "Fighting my last fight in our most iconic arena, how special would that be?
"I think it would be absolutely remarkable if I was able to do that. I'm not sure if it is going to happen or not", she added. "Either way, I'll be ending my career here and I'm very, very excited. about that".
The Bray native had already revealed that her next fight would be her last, confirming that it would take place in Dublin.
"It has been an amazing journey, the whole lot of it, over these last 20 years", she said."I have had the highs and lows. It has been an incredible, remarkable career and I always wanted to end it here in Ireland".
