The legendary rock star, Ace Frehley's cause of death has been revealed weeks after his passing.

The founding KISS member died of trauma injuries to his head due to a fall, according to a report obtained by PEOPLE. The manner of which Frehley passed was ruled an accident. He died aged 74.

According to PEOPLE, Frehley's family shared a statement with them on October 16th to confirm that the rock legend had passed earlier that day. It was later released that Frehley was on life support due to a bleed in the brain, caused by a fall several weeks previous.

“We are completely devastated and heartbroken. In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth," the statement from his family read.

The statement continued, "we cherish all of his finest memories, his laughter, and celebrate his strengths and kindness that he bestowed upon others. The magnitude of his passing is of epic proportions, and beyond comprehension. Reflecting on all of his incredible life achievements, Ace’s memory will continue to live on forever!"

Frehley died less than two weeks after cancelling the remainder of his live shows for 2025 due to "ongoing health issues," which were undisclosed at the time. He was hospitalised in late September after a fall in the studio and was urged by doctors to take time away from the road and live shows.

Frehley was among the original members of KISS and played with the band for about a decade. “He was an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier during some of the most formative foundational chapters of the band and its history. He is and will always be a part of KISS’s legacy. Our thoughts are with Jeanette, Monique and all those who loved him, including our fans around the world,” the band said following the death of Frehley.
