Limp Bizkit are reportedly going ahead with their tour next month after the death of their bassist, Sam Rivers.

Rivers passed away last Saturday at the age of 48. Rivers founded the band with Fred Durst in 1994, he took a three year break from the band in 2015-2018 and his final performance with Limp Bizkit was at Reeding & Leeds 2025 in August.

Limpbizkit announced the death of their bassist on Instagram, they said “Sam Rivers wasn’t just our bass player – he was pure magic. The pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound. From the first note we ever played together, Sam brought a light and a rhythm that could never be replaced. His talent was effortless, his presence unforgettable, his heart enormous. We shared so many moments — wild ones, quiet ones, beautiful ones — and every one of them meant more because Sam was there. He was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of human. A true legend of legends. And his spirit will live forever in every groove, every stage, every memory. Rest easy, brother. Your music never ends."

It has since been confirmed by TMZ that Rivers suffered a cardiac arrest and was "unresponsive." A spokesperson for the Florida Fire Rescue told the outlet, “Deputies responded to an attended death at that address." An "attended death" is used to describe a person struggling with a life threatening illness. Rivers was seen on stage this year wearing a t-shirt that read "f*** cancer", however the official cause of death has yet to be announced.

However, Limp Bizkit are still going ahead with their upcoming shows. Their ‘Gringo Papi Tour’ is set to kick off in Mexico City on November 29, they have dates lined up all across South America.

According to PRP, promoters for their show in Mexico City issued the following statement: "Limp Bizkit has decided to continue with its performance on November 29th at the Explanada Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, as part of its ‘Gringo Papi Tour‘ 2025. That night, every riff and every scream of the crowd will resonate in honor of the great legacy Sam offered to to Nu-Metal, because his energy will never cease.”
