Fleetwood Mac’s former longstanding guitarist, Lindsey Buckingham, was recently fired from the group for the second time in his music career after a quarrel over tour scheduling. Buckingham was replaced by Mike Campbell (Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers) and Neil Finn (Crowded House). Hear “Ride This Road” and “Hunger” on Spotify below.

Not one to sit at home sulking while his fellow ex musos are out having a party, earlier this year Buckingham announced the details of his own North American tour and a solorelease called Solo Anthology – The Best Of Lindsey Buckingham. Buckingham  played a performance on Kimmel to promote the projects.

The anthology is released today. As well as tracks from Buckingham’s solo recordss, songs from his 2017 release with Christine McVie, his work on the Back To The Future and National Lampoon’s Vacation  soundtracks, and a couple live Fleetwood Mac takes, the three-disc anthology includes two new original tracks. The first is a folky sensitive ballad called “Ride This Road” that ddisplays Buckingham’s finger-plucking skills, and the other  is “Hunger,” an upbeat tune well grounded in the Fleetwood Mac ’70s rock sound he helped create. Buckingham’s solo tour kicks off this weekend in Portland.
