A man in his 40s has been arrested as part of an investigation into the murder of gangland figure Robbie Lawlor in Belfast more than six years ago.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said the man was arrested by Merseyside Police in Liverpool yesterday before being brought to Northern Ireland for questioning.
Lawlor, 36, was shot dead in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast on 4 April 2020.
He had been a prominent figure in the Drogheda gangland feud and had travelled to Northern Ireland after reportedly fearing for his safety.
Lawlor was believed by Gardaí to have been involved in the murder of 17-year-old Keane Mulready-Woods.
Mulready-Woods was killed in January 2020, with his remains later found at several locations across Louth and Dublin.
The latest arrest forms part of the ongoing investigation into Lawlor's killing. Police have not released further details about the suspect or the circumstances surrounding the arrest.
