A clip of a rain-drenched man playing perfect air drums to Rush’s ‘Tom Sawyer’ during an American football match has gone viral online. The footage of the superb skinner is below.

Sports Anchor & Reporter Prescott Rossi posted a video on Twitter of the man. The keen drummer is a member of the Baltimore Ravens Marching Band. The clip catches him air drumming along to Rush’s classic 1981 song during the 1st quarter interval in the game between Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills on Sunday on the 9th of September.

Undeterred by the adverse weather conditions and in a poncho, the man hits his imaginary drum kit with passion, power and precision!

Rush formally retired back in 2015 after drummer Neil Peart announced his retirement from music citing chronic tendonitis and other health ailments. Peart’s bandmate, Alex Lifeson then confirmed that Rush had embarked on their last expansive tour together in that year, but they left the door open for future one-off performances and the possibility of new music. Not much has transpired in the two years since then, however, Lifeson admitted early this year that Rush is “basically done.”

“We have no plans to tour or record any more. We’re basically done. After 41 years, we felt it was enough,” Lifeson told The Globe and Mail

With Rush out of the picture, guitarist Lifeson said he’s keeping busy with a variety of side projects. “I’m writing a lot — I’m writing on four or five different little projects,” he told The Globe and Mail. “I get these requests to do guitar work with other people. It’s really a lot of fun for me. It’s low pressure: I get to be as creative as I want to be and I can work a little outside of the box, which is really attractive to me.”
