Marty Miller got to meet the one and only Suggs ahead of Madness' Forest Fest gig on July 26.
Marty did not hold back and asked the iconic singer all about what it was like for musicians to start out back in the day. Suggs shared a bit about his experience playing Irish pubs in London in Madness' early days.
He clarified his links to Cork and he explored, with Marty, his pendant for nostalgia.
The English musician bonded with Marty over how difficult, expensive and close-to-impossible it is for any emerging artist to create and support a 7-piece band nowadays, and how much of a shame that is.
On a more positive note, Suggs praised the Irish public for the warm welcome they offer, and for being the only ones in the world who will offer a pint to a stranger in a crowded pub.
Suggs will play Forest Fest with his band Madness on July 26, 2026 in Emo, Co. Laois.
