Robert Trujillo has added to the rumours regarding a potential Metallica residency at the Las Vegas Sphere as he said that the "possibilities are endless."

The speculation about a possible Metallica residency in the Las Vegas Sphere first arose this summer when the band's drummer Lars Ulrich shared that they were in talks about heading to the venue in 2026.

In a recent interview on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation, Trujillo weighed in on the rumours that the metal icons will be securing their slot at the Sphere. When he was aksed about the rumours circulating about Metallica heading to the Sphere, he said that he was equally as excited for the potential residency as it would make history for the metal community.

“I’m already thinking like, imagine this, imagine that, imagine, you know, because Metallica’s music is so visual,” he said. “I mean, imagine a song like [1986 song] ‘Orion’ and what you can do with that… The possibilities are endless," he said.

Although he mentioned that nothing is set in stone but the band are currently in talks to make it happen. Trujillo added "So for me, it’s again, like a dream come true. We’ll see what happens. I know we’re talking about it and hopefully this is gonna happen."

Trujillo continued to say that no heavy rock band has ever secured a residency in the Las Vegas Sphere, and that “there’s a lot of history with our music and a lot of, I think there’s potential for a lot of visual stimulation on this. And I can’t wait to be a part of it. So let’s see what happens."

Back in July Ulrich started the rumours and got heavy rock fans excited for the bands potential monumental oppurtunity as he said in an interview “I’m not going to confirm anything, because there’s nothing to confirm. But I’m not going to deny it, because we’re all such fans of this venue...All of our managers and our production people have been there and looked at it. It’s something that we’re considering, [but] nothing is etched in stone or green-lit. It’s something that we’re looking at at some point when the 2026 tour is done.” He continued to express how much he would love to perform at the Las Vegas Sphere, “It’s not signed, sealed and delivered, but speaking to me and asking my opinion, I would f**king love to do it.”
