No White Christmas

A white Christmas is not on the cards this year with an unseasonably mild weather forecast.

The big day is likely to remain dry in most places as well.

Met Éireann forecaster, Jean Byrne, says temperatures will also be higher than normal for this time of year.

Christmas Day will be mostly dry, but with a good deal of cloud. There is a small chance of a few spots of drizzle, mainly over high ground. A few bright intervals also. Highest temperatures 11 or 12 degrees, with moderate southerly breezes.
