Over 30,000 people received a Covid 19 vaccines at walk in centres over the Bank Holiday weekend.
It was predominantly younger people turning up who received their jabs, although an 83 year old turned up at a walk in centre in Sligo.
Chief Executive of the Health Service Executive Paul Reid said the success of the initiative exceeded all expectations.
Over 30,000 people were administered a vaccination at our walk in centres the weekend. Outstripping our expectations by far. All age groups went through but this initiative makes us beyond proud of younger people. When needed, they once again showed up in numbers. @HSELive
