Radiohead have announced a comeback tour, with 20 dates, after seven years of inactivity. Flyers posted in cities such as London, Copenhagen, Madrid and Berlin teased the comeback shows, but the band have officially confirmed the tour for this winter.

The band will play four night residencies in each city. The Spanish, Italian and UK run will commence this November with the Danish and German dates in December.

Philip Selway, Radiohead's drummer, said in a statement according to The Guardian, “Last year, we got together to rehearse, just for the hell of it. After a seven-year pause, it felt really good to play the songs again and reconnect with a musical identity that has become lodged deep inside all five of us. It also made us want to play some shows together, so we hope you can make it to one of the upcoming dates. For now, it will just be these ones but who knows where this will all lead.”

Fans will have to pre-register to buy tickets to the tour, an attempt to reduce ticket scams and bots from snatching up all of the tickets. The greater share of the tickets will be apportioned to fans that are living nearer to the venues.

“There will be allocations for those who wish to travel inside Europe and for those outside Europe,” the band said. “Our aim is to distribute tickets according to demand in a fair and geographically convenient way.”

The band have also stated that they will include a £1 levy in each UK ticket price to support the Live Trust initiative for arenas to raise money for grassroot venues. In Europe, €1 per ticket will be donated to Médecins Sans Frontières and the band have stated that they will match the total raised.

The European dates are their first live shows since 2018, when the band concluded their 2016 album 'A Moon Shaped Pool'. However each of the band members have been active with their solo careers over the past seven years.
