Ronnie Wood is to support Eric Clapton at his huge show at Sandringham this Summer.

The Rolling Stones bandmember is to perform as a special guest for Clapton as part of the Sandringham Estate series, which will begin on August 20, running for three days, with Clapton taking to the stage on August 23.

Wood is one of three guest stars announced for the event, where he will be playing a rare solo show at a huge outdoor gig. The other acts include former Amen Corner lead singer Andy Fairweather Low, and harmonica player Will Wylde.

As frontman for Amen Corner, Fairweather was part of a group best known for hits ‘Bend Me Shape Me’, ‘Hello Suzy’, and ‘(If Paradise Is) Half as Nice’ from the 1960s, while Wylde had previously won the HRH 'Lord Of Blues' award last year, as well as earning UK Blues nominations for “Instrumentalist of the Year” and “Contemporary Blues Artist of the Year”.

Wylde's latest record ‘Blues Is Still Alive’, reached number one in the Independent Blues Broadcasters Association Chart, and No 5 in the UK's Official Jazz & Blues Album Chart.

Earlier this month, Ronnie Wood also reflected on his 50 plus years in the music business, which has seen him play in bands such as The Faces, The Jeff Beck Group and of course, Rolling Stones.

"The Yardbirds was one [band] that I used to follow a lot, and I used to go and see them in the Richmond Athletic Grounds in the Crawdaddy Club," Wood recalls at the outset of the clip. "Very important. And people were swinging from the rafters in there, and sweat dripping from the ceiling, and it was so incredible, the atmosphere, with the crescendos they used to do", Wood wrote on social media.
