Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has been told to swap his distinctive bright pink front door for a more traditional colour after local council planners ruled it clashes with the character of the neighbourhood.
The musician's colourful entrance has been a feature of the £7 million Maida Vale home he shares with wife Sally Wood since the couple purchased the property in 2017.
However, Westminster City Council has now refused retrospective planning permission for a number of altered front doors on the street, including Wood's eye-catching pink design.
According to planning officials, the non-traditional colours are considered inappropriate for the area's historic appearance and architectural character.
Council documents reportedly state that the brightly coloured doors are "incongruous" and "harm the appearance and special architectural interest" of the properties, which are located in one of London's most prestigious residential districts.
The decision has led to comparisons with The Rolling Stones' 1966 classic Paint It, Black, with council officials effectively instructing Wood to replace the pink shade with a more neutral colour.

A source close to the guitarist said: "The council does not like your door being painted a different colour. They like them black."
Wood, 79, joined The Rolling Stones in 1975 and has remained a member of the legendary rock band for more than five decades.
Alongside his music career, he is also an accomplished artist whose paintings and drawings have been exhibited around the world, making the dispute over his colourful front door a particularly ironic one.
The planning row comes as local authorities across parts of London continue to enforce strict conservation area rules designed to preserve the historic appearance of streets and buildings.
Homeowners living in such areas can face restrictions on changes to external features including windows, doors, paint colours and extensions.

'In The Stars' Official Music Video, The Rolling Stones
Last month, the Rolling Stones announced the release of their highly anticipated new studio album 'Foreign Tongues', arriving 10th July from Polydor/Universal Music.
The incredibly vibrant 14-track collection follows less than three years after the band’s universally acclaimed, Grammy Award-winning Hackney Diamonds, which topped charts worldwide and achieved multi-platinum success.
The new album will be introduced by the upbeat and infectious lead single ‘In the Stars’, released digitally on 5th May alongside the album’s opening track ‘Rough and Twisted.’
In The Stars receives a physical release on 15th May. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood are set to attend a media launch for Foreign Tongues later today in Brooklyn, New York.
In the lead-up to the announcement, the band have been subtly building anticipation for the new project, including the limited white label release of the track ‘Rough and Twisted’ only on vinyl under the name The Cockroaches.
Circulating among fans and collectors, the release has already sparked excitement and speculation around the sound and direction of Foreign Tongues, offering an early glimpse into the album’s raw and exploratory energy.
Titled ‘Foreign Tongues’, the record is set for release on July 10, with the band simultaneously unveiling its lead single, ‘In The Stars’, which is available now.
