Guns N’ Roses axeman, Slash has revealed that the band intend to start work on a new album later in the year.

The guitarist along with the rest of the band have mooted the possibility that they will go into the recording studio in the autumn after they finish their tour.

According to UCR Slash revealed on 101 WRIF why the band had been so evasive around the idea of recording a new album he said:

“The thing is, we hadn’t really done anything yet, and I don’t like to say anything. You know how people promote shit and lie through their teeth?”

Slash continued that he wanted to opt for the truth:

“So I just wanted to be honest, and there was no telling what we were going to do at that point. But at this point, I do know we are going to do this one, and we’ve already started working on stuff. There you go.”

Slash was upset when a photo was sent around showing his guitar rig set up at Axl Rose’s Malibu home. “There was a rumor I was over there, it was before I had even been there. I was like, ‘Jesus Christ, that’s a pain in the ass and annoying.’ But I am excited about what we’ve got going on and everything, so it’s going to be cool. It’s awesome.”

During the course of the pjone interview, just as Slash started to chat about the new album, the connection was lost! Shortly after making the reconnection Slash retorted with a joke, “I guess that must have been sort of Axl saying something!”

The guitarist went on to clarify that it will only be when the tour is finished that work on a new album will begin.
