Check Out Smashing Pumpkins First Live Performance As Classic Lineup!

Classic Pumpkins

Last night Smashing Pumpkins gave their first performance since the majority of the original classic line up reformed. Check it out below. It’s rockin’…

Appearing on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, the rock legends gave an energetic performance of their new track ‘Solara’ as well as the full on ‘Zero’ taken from their double LP Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness.

This was the Pumpkins’ debut public performance ahead of their ‘Shiny Oh So Bright’ US tour. The only missing original member is bassist D’Arcy Wretzky (as their bitter feud continues.

In their present line up they are Billy Corgan, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin, and Jeff Schroeder along with touring bassist Jack Bates.  Smashing Pumpkins released ‘Solara’ last Friday. It’s the band’s first single in 18 years. You can check out the studio version here.

Billy Corgan last month teased the official music video for the track. An Instagram photo revealed the singer in a similar outfit that he wore during the ‘Adore’ era, as Corgan broods beside an empty cage. The video had been directed by Nick Koenig, who has recently notched up millions of hits on Youtube with the videos for ‘Spotlight’ by Marshmello.
