A status yellow snow-ice warning has been issued for the entire week.

Met Eireann says temperatures could fall as low as -3 degrees, with some accumulations of snow expected in areas.

The nationwide weather warning is due to come into effect from 6 o’ clock tomorrow morning and remain in place until Saturday evening.

Met Eireann says wintry showers can be expected, which will be more frequent across the southwest, west and the north.

The forecaster also says there will be widespread frost at night-time.

There’s also the potential that a more significant spell of sleet and snow could fall on Thursday.

Met Eireann says it will update the warning tomorrow morning at 10am.
