The highly anticipated outdoor concert in Northern Italy has been cancelled due to severe weather conditions. The mayor of Bassano del Grappa recommended that the show be postponed for the safety of concertgoers, staff and performers.

Sting was due to perform in Parco Ragazzi del '99, a park in Bassano del Grappa, located in Northern Italy. This show was part of the rock stars tour 'Sting 3.0', where he is performing in venues across America and Europe. Local organisers also advised against going ahead with the show due to the severity of the weather conditions, the decision to cancel the Italian show was for the saftey of the "audience, band and crew."

On Sunday, Northern Italy felt temperatures rise to 27 degrees, however a severe thunderstorm was predicted for that evening when Sting was supposed to perform. Sting stated that there was a possibility of "lightning and extreme winds" which determined the organisers decision to postpone the concert.

Sting took to Instagram to announce the cancellation of the Sunday night concert, the caption read "The mayor of Bassano del Grappa wisely said it would have been too dangerous for the performance to take place with the possibility of lightning and extremely high winds last night. The safety of my audience, band and crew is paramount. I promise we will return as soon as we can."

Shortly after the collapse, a privacy tent erected on stage as medics attended the musician. Sting later announced that the drummer was recovering in the hospital.

Sting kicked off his tour on the 25th of May 2024. The rock star is also set to perform in Rome, Italy on Monday, followed by a show in Udine on Wednesday. The British singer has switched back to a power trio format for this run of shows, his group includes guitarist Dominic Miller and drummer Chris Maas.
