Storm Ophelia: Closures, Delays and Disruptions

The DUBLIN AIRPORT AUTHORITY says the airport IS open but there are cancellations and passengers should check with their airline before travelling. Shannon Airport is also asking passengers to check with their airline.

BUS ÉIREANN is cancelling all services nationwide from 5am until 2pm, when the situation will be reviewed. This includes the Expressway network. The company says it will attempt to provide some level of service in some parts of the country this afternoon and will issue updates when possible.

DUBLIN BUS says morning peak services are expected to operate as normal however there will be significant disruption to services AFTER 9am. The company says it’s reviewing the situation on an ongoing basis and taking advice from Met Éireann and the National Emergency Coordination Committee.

IRISH RAIL says there will be NO services on Limerick Junction to Waterford, or Limerick to Ballybrophy via Nenagh – with speed restrictions in place on other routes. Teams will be monitoring the network throughout the storm and customers can follow @irishrail on twitter.

The HSE says all hospital outpatient appointments are being cancelled. Only urgent procedures will take place and only essential community services will operate.

Nearly all COURTS are cancelled – with local arrangements being made for any custody hearings which must go ahead.

Department of Employment and SOCIAL PROTECTION says all customer appointments are cancelled – but there will be NO impact on customer payments.

Driving Test Centres will remain closed today.
