Teen Is Charged Over Blanchardstown Restaurant Horror Show

A teenager’s appeared in court on Thursday charged in connection with an attack at a restaurant in Blanchardstown over Christmas that led to the deaths of two men.

Jonas Kabangu, whose address can’t be published by order of the judge, is accused of engaging in violent disorder.

On Christmas Eve, as he was having dinner with family and friends at Browne’s Steakhouse in Blanchardstown, 48-year-old James Hennessy Senior was shot.

He later died from his injuries at the Mater hospital eleven days later.

The gunman, 26-year-old Tristan Sherry, died in the restaurant after being overpowered and disarmed. Two men are before the courts charged with his murder.

Today, Jonas Kabangu appeared before Blanchardstown District Court accused of using, or threatening to use, unlawful violence in Browne’s Steakhouse in a way that would cause a person to fear for his, or another person’s safety.

He’s accused of doing so with two others. He was granted bail today and is due back in court on the 26th of March.
