Tiger Woods has been charged with DUI after being involved in a single car crash in Florida.

The crash happened in Southern California in February 2021, after Woods rolled his vehicle while attempting to overtake another that was towing a trailer. Initially, Woods had walked away from the accident with no visible injuries. It impacted his career, as he has appeared in minimal PGA Tour events since.

The 15 time major champion was charged with driving under the influence after being involved in the crash, according to police.

Following the incident, Woods was questioned by police, and later refused to submit a urine test.

Speaking to reporters, Sheriff John Budensiek from the Martin County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that Woods has also been charged with property damage, and refusing to provide a lawful test, to go with his DUI charge.

In May 2017, Tiger Woods had previously been arrested for driving under the influence in Jupiter Island. He eventually pleaded guilty to reckless driving and was given one year of probation. He was also fined $250 and sentence to 50 hours of community service.

Back in 2023, Tiger Woods also drew controversy after appearing to hand an opponent, Justin Thomas a tampon during the Genesis Invitational tournament.

This happened after Woods outdrove him as they walked off the ninth tee, with Thomas appearing to laugh when he was handed the feminine hygiene product.

As expected, this incident caused a stir online, with many criticising Woods over his actions.

Irish rugby star, Anna Caplice wrote: "If the world generally respected women I would be able to see the funny side of this. But it doesn't. So I don't".

A lawyer and author, Julie DiCaro also added: "Ugh. All the guys think this is hilarious, but the joke is denigrating women. So played out and stupid".

Meanwhile, Dr Ann Olivarius, a lawyer specialising in equality and anti-discrimination blasted Woods over his behaviour.

"See, it's funny because feminine hygiene products are INHERENTLY emasculating, so when a man makes another man touch a tampon, he's saying "I am a bigger and better man than you, because, GROSS, I made you touch a wrapped Tampax!".
