1961, Elvis was at number one in the singles chart with the German inspired folk track 'Wooden Heart'.
1970, Producer Phil Spector begins working with unused Beatles material to create what would be the record Let It Be.
1973, John Lennon is ordered to leave America by US Immigration officials, he eventually secures a visa three years later, challenging and eventually changing US immigration laws!
1990, Fleetwood Mac began their 'Behind The Mask' world tour in Brisbane, Australia.
1997, U2 went to number one on the album chart with their fifth studio LP Pop.
2023, Keith Reid from Procol Harum, died aged 76 from colon cancer.
Reid wrote all the band's lyrics, but was not a performing member. As a songwriter, he also co-wrote 'You're the Voice', a UK 1986 top-10 hit for Australian singer John Farnham.
Ric Ocasek of The Cars was born March 23rd in 1949
Happy birthday Damon Albarn of Blur & Gorillaz.
