It seems the Orange Julius won’t just admit that he avails of a pretty bad tanning service. Rather than actually tell the truth for once, Trump has opted to blame energy saving lightbulbs.
According to CoS, the Trump Administration recently relaxed efficiency regulations for light bulbs. They have made claims that energy efficient bulbs don’t deserve their high price.
They go on to argue that people should have the choice to make their own decisions when it comes to how to light their home and workplace. However, it seems the change of plan is really to do with just how orange they make The Donald actually look.
Trump discussed the policy change when he was speaking to House Republicans at a retreat in Baltimore this week:
“The light bulb, people said, ‘What’s with the light bulb?’ I said, ‘Here’s the story.’ And I looked at it, the bulb that we’re being forced to use, number one to me, most importantly, the light’s no good. I always look orange. And so do you. The light is the worst.”

However, according to The Washington Post, many photography experts, all agree that his orange hue has absolutelely nothing to do with lighting.
A portrait photographer called Tamzin Smith from Rockville, Md. made the argument that Trump’s orange look can be seen even when he is photographed against white backgrounds.
The photographer says that if bulbs were responsible for creating a warm glow, anything white in a photo of the president as well as the background, a white shirt, or even his teeth should also be orange.
“You can see that even when his teeth are white, his skin is orangey-red. It’s definitely not the lighting.”
