Two men in their twenties are due before Tralee District Court this morning, charged in connection with a firearms seizure in Limerick.

A loaded semi-automatic pistol was found inside the men’s car in the Corbally area on Monday night. The car had earlier rammed a number of Garda vehicles as it tried to escape from detectives. Gardaí say the operation was part of ongoing investigations targetting crime gangs on the North and Southside of Limerick City.

Meanwhile, A new pilot scheme is being rolled out today that lets people report anti-social behaviour to Gardai by text.”See Something, Say Something” is being trialled in Tralee, and was created by local tech company Zinmobile. Tralee Chamber Alliance is supporting the new crime prevention method in partnership with the Gardai.
