A new bargain retailer is making its Irish debut today — Normal, the Danish discount chain, opens its first-ever store in Ireland this morning at the ILAC Shopping Centre on Henry Street, Dublin.
The launch kicks off at 8:30am, with Normal promising a day of celebrations. As part of the grand opening, the chain is giving away 1,000 surprise goodie bags to early shoppers, while the first ten people in line will each receive a €30 gift card.
There’s more: customers can try product tastings, and there’s a competition where one lucky shopper will win a full pallet of products. Plus, there’s a chance to win a “TADAAA” ticket valued at €334.
Normal is known for its “fixed low price” model — rather than running sales, most items are priced at consistently low levels. The range is broad, covering skincare, hair care, make-up, cleaning supplies and oral-care products.
Their store layout is intentionally designed like a maze: shoppers are guided through different product zones, encouraging a “treasure-hunt” experience.
Founded in 2013 in Silkeborg, Denmark, Normal has rapidly expanded across Europe. As of 2025, it operates in several countries including Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Portugal, and Finland — and now Ireland.
The choice of ILAC Shopping Centre for its Irish debut is significant: it’s a central, high-footfall location in Dublin city centre, which shows Ireland's strong confidence in Normal’s business model.
