Weather Warning

Just when we thought things were getting better…

Met Éireann have issued a weather warning for seven counties following the news of Storm Caroline coming our way.

This week we have seen temperatures become milder, nonetheless, it isn’t to remain calm for too long.

Following a wind warning for Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Kerry, Met Éireann have upped the warning to a further three counties to include Leitrim, Sligo and Clare.

The status yellow wind warning is expected to hit Irish shores between 6.00am this morning, Wednesday, December 6th until 11pm tonight, but it will also see high winds from 3am Thursday, December 7th until 8pm.

Met Éireann stated: “An Atlantic storm will pass close to the north coast of Scotland on Thursday morning. The UK Met Office have named it Storm Caroline.”

“Severe winds will affect parts of Scotland, but it will generate strong and blustery winds over Ireland also. […] Strongest winds in coastal areas and over high ground.”

People are urged to take the weather warning seriously, taking precautionary measures in advance of the storm.
