Over 2 Million Euro Worth Of Drugs Seized At Dublin Airport

Two people have been detained by Gardai after a seizure of heroin valued an estimated €2.1m was seized at Dublin Airport yesterday.

Approximately 15 kilos of the drug was revealed to be hidden in the luggage of a female passenger in her 50s who had landed from Lahore in Pakistan. She was with a young child when she arrived off the plane and was greeted in the arrivals area by a man in his 30s.

The three people involved in the seizure are non-Irish nationals. The man and the woman were apprehended by gardaí and are presently being held at Ballymun Garda station under Section 2 Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act 1996.
